On 12 December 2017, it was announced by the Commonwealth and Western Australian governments, that Western Australia would join the nationally-delivered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
This means from the 1st of July 2018, the Commonwealth will take over the delivery of the NDIS in WA. The NDIS will continue to be rolled out across WA, on a geographic basis. You can get more information about the rollout in your area here. The aim is to have the rollout complete by 2020.
All current participants in the WA NDIS will automatically transfer to the nationally delivered Scheme from April 2018 through till 31 December 2018. You will be contacted by the WA Government to discuss moving you over to the national scheme. The aim is to have a smooth transition, with little to no interruption to what you are currently receiving.
