Lifeplan recently had the great pleasure, of inviting Kate de Josselin from the Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) Australia Association, to visit Lifeplan in Western Australia. Kate presented two Workshops for Lifeplan staff, Parents who have children living with PWS and other interested service providers.
On 12 December 2017, it was announced by the Commonwealth and Western Australian governments, that Western Australia would join the nationally-delivered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
On Wednesday the 8th of November 2017, the Hon. Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Disability Services and Environment, and the Hon. Cassie Rowe, MLA, visited the new Lifeplan Centre in Welshpool. The visit was to officially present the successful Lotterywest Grant to the Lifeplan team.

On Friday the 16th of March 2018, Lifeplan were lucky enough to have a visit from the Hon. Ben Wyatt MLA, Treasurer; Minister for Finance; Energy; Aboriginal Affairs. The main focus of his visit was to discuss the ongoing roll out of the NDIS in WA, from Lifeplan’s perspective.
Encouraging independence for people with a disability can sometimes go against our ‘nurturing nature’ (our natural instincts are to keep them safe) but the benefits are hugely positive and life changing. There are many support programs that empower people living with a disability to live independently, with wide ranging benefits.

Currently undergoing fit outs and renovations thanks to our friends at Lotterywest WA, we can’t wait to see the finished product. We are tentatively keeping our eye on mid-October as a move date, but please tuned for updates!
